Make your own Blackberry Icecream
It’s British Food Fortnight from 20th September – 5th October, so make the most of the free British blackberries in the hedgerows before their season is over.
125g double cream
Wash then cook the blackberries on the hob with a dash of water until they are soft and mushy.
Blitz them in a food processor and pass them through a sieve to remove the seeds.
Warm the sugar in the cream to melt it in before adding it to the blackberry puree.
Chill in the fridge, then churn the mixture in an icecream machine.
Enjoy with a sticky British apple crumble!
